Sometime in the year 2017, a new kind of lobster descended down to our planet. Apparently they had shrunk significantly in the subsequent years before the next wave of visitors.

Hailing from Lobstonaan, the creatures were perfectly fine with being used as a means of human transportation, much like humans had used the Honda Odyssey, which won Japan Car of the Year upon its debut. As a result, lobsters became an increasing presence on the road and in the water.

The giant lobsters courteously allowed us to ride on top of them, but they simultaneously made progress towards ruling the world. Some three or four years after their arrival, they achieved that goal. More lobsters continued to travel to Earth and soon enough there were too many to resist.

He used it to save the world.
Kevin was asleep in his apartment when the aliens came to Earth. Their arrival was unannounced and quickly realized to be unwelcome. New York City was the epicenter of the situation, with flying saucers the size of compact cars touching down in Times Square at 2:30 AM. People were excited first, but that dissipated rapidly.

Hearing the screams from the street below, Kevin woke up and went to the window. The aliens looked like mushrooms … exactly like mushrooms. They walked around the streets of New York carrying boom boxes that blasted the song “All My Life” by K-Ci & JoJo at deafening volumes.

“What did you do that for?” a woman asked angrily. “I love K-Ci & JoJo.”

“But … you were running away … screaming …”

“We were all running away because we love the song too much. I needed some distance to enjoy it at a reasonable level.”

“Oh …”

“Thanks for ruining all the fun, jerk.”

No! Not now! Of all the times!
This can’t be happening! This really really can’t be happening. Why couldn’t it be a time when I wasn’t doing anything important? Is that so much to ask, batteries? You might say I was too excited.
I awoke from my slumber to the sweet, sweet sound of Van Halen’s “Jump” and immediately turned to the window. There, down at the end of my front yard, was the mail truck … it was here. I think I took a wrong turn…
Something started to look a little bit unfamiliar. I was in the car looking at gigantic skyscrapers when I was expecting to see the Grand Canyon. “…oh. So what’s after I-280?”

Let me tell you a bit about riding bikes.
Currently I live in New York City and I have been riding my bike more consistently than ever before. This had brought much joy into my life, for more reasons than I think either of us care for me to elaborate upon. New York has so many cyclists, but much of the reason for this is necessity. A bike will literally get you where you need to go faster than the bus or the subway. In some instances it may even get you somewhere faster than a car. That being said, there isn't a whole lot that's entertaining about the average ride in New York, aside from any value that is inherent in bicycle riding.

Wait, scratch that ... dodging cars is awesome.

But anyway, back to my original point. For an example of where some truly exciting bicycle riding can occur, you should head over to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Built into some freakin' mountains, the Steel City is a cyclist's dream. For the casual rider, it may look like a nightmare; almost any given location you wish to travel will have an incredibly daunting mountain in your way, forcing you to scale it.

I remember times when I would be flying down S. Negley towards Fifth Avenue wearing my Motorola High Definition Sweat Proof Bluetooth Stereo Headphones. My bike would be moving so fast that I would be blinded by the tears swelling up in my eyes. That never happens in New York. He shined his flashlight at the noise behind him.
Some time into the journey, he questioned why he went alone. The flashlight in front of him, leading the way, he tried to illuminate his path as best he could, but as he turned the corner, he was face to face with a shadowy figure. Immediately, he turned around and ran in the opposite direction.

I sprinted out of the bank, money in hand
My hands wouldn't stop sweating as I approached the bank. With my trusty 8GB 4-in-1 USB Pen Drive I was ready. I had already downloaded floor plans of the bank onto the USB drive so I could access them on my laptop once inside. No one was suspecting this, and that's why it couldn't possibly fail.

You need to go faster! FASTER!
I wasn't sure if I would have rather fight him or hire him as a motivation coach, but my window to make that choice closed long ago; I did neither. It was about a year ago that I last saw Stumpy Staples and there was indication that I would ever see him again. Still, I could never forget him, no matter how hard I tried.

Our meeting seemed based on chance, but I can't say I know anything about Stumpy Staples for sure anymore. My initial suspicions on his name have since resurfaced.

“Is that your real name?” I asked during our introduction.

“Sure is!”

At the time, that was good enough for me. We met during a temporary job that lasted only a weekend, but he made a lasting impact that kept us in touch.
