The Post-Apocalyptic 14-Year-Old Husky Kid
World War III concluded with most of the world being obliterated by nuclear bombs. Humanity, however, was not totally eradicated. Small groups of people emerged from secluded bomb shelters with the task of cleaning up the planet and repopulating. This is the story of the first child to be born under these conditions. This is the story of the post-apocalyptic 14-year-old husky kid.
CHAPTER ONE: MOUSE
Riding on his trusty four-wheeler, inherited from his late father, the post-apocalyptic 14-year-old husky kid motored through the rubble that was once Interstate-20. Some areas of the highway were intact, but most were reduced to barely-navigable piles of concrete and asphalt. The drive into the Dallas-Fort Worth area was quicker than it was before the apocalypse, but the post-apocalyptic 14-year-old husky kid would never know that.
When he reached Lake Arlington, the post-apocalyptic 14-year-old husky kid found what he was looking for: a small supply of tires. A semi-truck and a collapsed housing complex formed a hill next to the lake that was perfect for tire rolling. The post-apocalyptic 14-year-old husky kid climbed inside one of the tires and prepared to roll down the hill into the water when he realized the drop was much too steep. In the midst of his hesitation, he spotted something peculiar.
“What in the heck is this?” he said to himself, holding up the Logitech M510 Wireless Mouse. It was unlike anything he had ever seen. He took a moment to examine it, but while distracted his tire began rolling.
“Oh jeez!” he exclaimed as he barreled down the wooden siding and rubber-filled mountain.
