Then, it started ringing.
A noise woke me up in the middle of the night. It wasn’t the kind of startling noise to make you bolt up from your sleep, but a slight disturbance in the status quo … enough to make me slowly open my eyes and sit up in bed. It was at that moment I caught a glimpse of a man jumping out my window.
My brain cells were firing at a rapid pace at that sight. Who was the man? Why was he here? Question after question collided with a sense of fear as I hopped out of bed and looked out the window; the man was nowhere to be seen.
Confused and scared, I stepped away from the window. I noticed a phone on the floor, the Motorola Droid A855. I picked it up and examined it. Then, it started ringing.
“Hello?” I said.
“You have my phone.”
“Who … are you? What were you doing in my room?”
“I was taking your stereo, what the heck did you think I was doing?”
I looked over to the place where my stereo used to be. Sure enough, it was gone.
“Oh,” I responded.
“So … uhh … this is actually a little embarrassing. Do you think I could get my phone back?”
