Turns out it wasn’t quite what we expected.
When I bought my new car, all my friends were begging to go on a road trip. I agreed, but it wasn’t quite the trip they were expecting. They envisioned driving south to the beach during the summer; I envisioned going to Funky Town. Since it was my car, the latter was our destination.
After we all piled into the car, I pulled out my TomTom GO 740 GPS and told it to take us to Funky Town. Soon enough, the coordinates were in and we were on our way.
“Let’s listen to the Lipps Inc. song!” one of my friends said.
“Lipps Inc.?” I asked. “Who is that?”
“They sing Funkytown!”
“There’s a song called Funkytown?”
Some 17 hours later, we were in a small town well outside of Calgary looking at a dilapidated building with a sign reading “Funky Town”. Below that was a sign reading “FOR SALE”.
“Yeah … umm … sorry?”
