That wasn’t Vishnu.
Despite my knowledge that no food had magically placed itself inside my refrigerator after the last time I opened the door, I checked to see if anything was there anyway. Nothing. Of course. I continued pacing around the room awaiting a very important call from my friend Vishnu.
Vishnu was out getting some tickets for us to see Kenny G live in concert. I was so nervous that we wouldn’t get tickets that I couldn’t go with him to get them. Fortunately, Vishnu understood my plight and offered to pick up a ticket for me so long as I gave him the money beforehand. That was no problem for me, but I was becoming nervous that he didn’t get them since he hadn’t called yet. Right on cue, however, the phone rang. I ran to my Motorola DECT 6.0 Enhanced Cordless Phone and picked up the call.
“Hello?”
“Do you have Prince Albert in a can?” said an unfamiliar voice.
“Prince Albert in a can? I’m not sure; what’s that?”
“Oh … um … it’s a kind of tobacco.”
“Hmm … I might have some. Hold on, I’ll check.”
I walked around the apartment looking for it and, after a few minutes, found some on my roommate’s dresser.
“Hello? Hey, yeah, I found some.”
“Well … you better let him out!” the voice yelled.
“Let who out?” I asked, but there wasn’t anyone on the line anymore.
