Just to be clear, I'm talking about the Wild West before transportation from the East to the West was simplified with an increasingly efficient train system and not Wild Wild West with Will Smith. While that could potentially be the greatest film of our generation (it has some pretty stiff competition from The Mummy Returns and Gone in 60 Seconds), that is not what I am making a reference to here.
No, what I'm talking about is when the inevitable happens. When the West was a place that you could get to, but was still new, laws were much more difficult to enforce and outlaws did as they please. When space travel becomes something anyone can do, rather than something that requires several years of schooling, training and personal selection by NASA, outlaws will rise again. When the final frontier is open to the common man, there will be too much unfamiliar area for any entity to police. Gunslingers can rejoice once more, although they will most likely have to use some kind of space laser instead.
